Proton, Altel, and ECarX's joint venture business, ACO Tech, recently disclosed the integration of "Pay & Go," Sarawak's indigenous smart payment system for off-street parking, into its ATLAS operating system, which is utilized in Proton vehicles.

The Proton X70 is the only connected Proton car that currently supports the new Pay & Go integration, although the X series SUV models will be the first to receive it via an over-the-air (OTA) upgrade in the near future.





Thanks to the license plate recognition system used by the Pay & Go service, users will no longer need to search for their phones or use paper parking tickets to pay for parking directly in-car with only a tap on the built-in infotainment display.

Users who have saved the license plates of their vehicles in their Pay & Go accounts can utilize the in-app credits they purchased to make payments from their vehicles before they reach the exit. However, subsequent software updates will also allow customers to pay directly from their ATLAS Pay e-wallet. Currently, credits may be purchased via QR payments through the app on the infotainment display.





Pay & Go services are now offered in 28 sites, mostly in Kuching, but the business claims that more regions across the country, including Klang Valley, will soon be added.
