Motorcyclists and pedestrians crossing the Johor land borders can now use QR code clearance for immigration processing, according to CNA. This initiative expands the pilot programme under the National Integrated Immigration System (MyNIISe), which began on September 22 and initially covered car lanes at the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI) and Sultan Abu Bakar Complex (KSAB).

The Home Ministry encourages users to download the MyNIISe application to generate a personal QR code, which can be scanned at special lanes provided during the trial period. The pilot programme aims to simplify immigration clearance and will run until February 28, 2026.

During this period, the existing QR code system and the MyBorderPass app can still be used, but the public — including foreign visitors — are encouraged to switch to MyNIISe at checkpoints where it has been activated. After the trial phase ends in March 2026, the MyNIISe app is expected to replace MyBorderPass completely.
For drivers entering Singapore, the system allows them to scan their MyNIISe-generated QR code at dedicated lanes, removing the need for manual counter checks. Users must register through the MyNIISe platform to generate a unique QR code linked to their travel details.
