Reiki (霊気),is a spiritual healing method developed in 1922 by a Japanese, Mikao Usui. It uses a technique commonly called palm healing as a form of complementary and alternative medicine and is sometimes classified as oriental medicine by some professional bodies. Through the use of this technique, practitioners believe that they are transferring healing energy in the form of ki through the palms.
Few things about Reiki that you may want to know!
1. Reiki is a very wonderful art of healing, you can learn it to heal yourself, and also people around you! :)
2. Reiki is the highest form of energy healing. It is very gentle and safe, it is suitable for anyone, even for pets! It can never do any harm.
3. Reiki lasts a lifetime. Once you have gone through the Attunement by a Reiki Master, regardless of whether you use the energy consciously or not, it will always stay with you.
4. Reiki can be succesfully combined with other healing methods, it can be incorporated into daily life. It does not conflict with any religious beliefs, therefore it can be learnt and used by anyone!
5. Reiki does not interfere with conventional medical treatments. It actually enhances healing proces and assist the body to heal at an optimum rate.
5. Once you are attuned to Reiki, it will be right there in your hands, available 24 hours a day!
Lastly, you do not need any prior knowledge or experiences about healing or reiki, ANYONE CAN LEARN REIKI!
