The new JPX919 Tour employ a 1025 mild carbon steel, while the JPX919 Hot Metal irons are constructed of a high-strength Chromoly 4140M, and the JPX919 Forged round out the series by utilizing Boron-infused steel.

JPX919 Hot Metal
Combining an incredible balance of ball speed and launch angle, the JPX919 Hot Metal utilizes a high-strength Chromoly 4140M material with cup-face construction to produce what they say is the highest ball speed from anyMizuno iron.
But the real star of this show is the stability frame, again open at the heel portion, which helps players control launch and landing angles and ensure they’re able to land and hold greens. According to Chris Voshall, Senior Engineer, “We worked the design backwards from the correct landing angles. These are irons for the course, not just the launch monitor.”
For this set of irons, Mizuno also re-engineered the sound ribs to promote specific vibration patterns that give the irons a desired sound and sensation through impact – often described as that “Mizuno sensation.”
JPX919 Forged
For the JPX919 Forged, Mizuno added a trace amount of Boron to increase the steel billet’s strength by 30%, which allows for greater design capabilities. In essence, this makes the aforementioned iron Mizuno’s most versatile one yet.
In addition to the stability frame, the clubface is CNC milled from the sole up which in turn produces a larger minimum face thickness and increased ball speeds across the face on all strikes. Weight is also removed from the face which promotes a lower and deeper center of gravity, thus allowing players to flight their mid and long irons easier.
