The game of golf shall be played in accordance to the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A Rules Limited and the following Local Rules of Ponderosa GCR.
PENALTY FOR BREACH OF A LOCAL RULE
General Penalty (match play: loss of hole; stroke play: 2 strokes)
1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 18)
A ball is out of bounds when it is beyond any white stakes/white lines walls/fence defining the boundary edge of the course.
2. PENALTY AREA (Rule 17)
As defined by yellow or red stakes/lines.
DROPPING ZONES for Penalty Area at Holes 4, 7, 9, 13 & 16
If a ball is in the penalty area of these holes, including when it is known or virtually certain that a ball that has not been found came to rest in the penalty area, the player has these relief options, each for one penalty stroke:
take relief under Rule 17.1, or
as an extra option, drop the original ball or another ball in the designated dropping zone. The dropping zone is a relief area under Rule 14.3.
3. ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS (Rule 16)
a. Ground Under Repair
Any area encircled by white line or marked as GUR.
Any area of damaged ground (e.g. caused by crowd or vehicle movement).
Washed down crevices in bunkers.
Edging grooves near putting greens. No free relief if it only interferes with the player's stance.
Relief from Tree Roots in Fairway 16.1b (G.U.R) The player may take relief from exposed tree roots in General Area (Fairway) or a ball within 2 club length from the edge of the fairway. But interference does not exist if tree roots only interfere with player’s stand.
b. Immovable obstructions
Halfway huts, rain shelters, light masts and bases, electrical installations, distribution boxes and bases.
Wires and/or stakes supporting young trees.
4. INTEGRAL OBJECTS
Flower beds
5. SUSPENSION OF PLAY (Rule 5.7)
The following signals will be used to suspend and resume play:
Immediate Stop - One prolonged note of the siren and must stop play immediately.
Penalty for breach: Disqualification.
Normal Stop - Three consecutive notes of the siren
Resume Play - Two short notes of the siren
PACE OF PLAY POLICY
Ready Golf is encouraged for Stroke Play under Rule 6 4b(2) to play out of turn in a safe and responsible manner.
Recommended pace of play for each hole:
Par 3 - 11 Minutes Par 4 - 14 Minutes Par 5 - 16 Minutes.
