Malaysia has welcomed its first-ever HarborLand indoor theme park with the official opening of HarborLand Malaysia at the newly launched KLGCC Mall in Bukit Kiara. Operated by Playtopia World Sdn Bhd, the internationally recognised playground concept from Thailand marks its debut in Kuala Lumpur, adding a significant lifestyle attraction to the mall’s family-focused tenant mix.
Covering 25,000 sq ft with soaring 30-foot ceilings, HarborLand Malaysia features 44 attractions across multiple themed zones, offering children of all ages a safe, creative and highly interactive play experience. Its arrival further enhances Bukit Kiara’s growing appeal as a premium urban hub, complementing the area’s evolving mix of lifestyle spaces, retail centres and even corporate enclaves with demand for office space in Bukit Jalil and nearby districts.
A Multi-Zone Play Experience for All Ages
HarborLand Malaysia is divided into several curated zones:
HarborTown
A role-play miniature city designed for children aged five and above.
Little Ville & Toyland
A dedicated learning and play space filled with quality toys and interactive activities for toddlers and preschoolers.
Mainplay & Kid’s Island
A large-scale, high-adventure playground designed for older children aged seven and up.
Arts & Craft Corner
A creative hub where kids can explore artistic expression through hands-on activities.
The Common Area
Featuring a mini-mart-themed café for parents and families to relax.
The theme park is built to comply with EN-1176 international safety standards, ensuring that all materials used are non-toxic, durable and free from harmful metals — a key consideration in modern family-oriented developments, similar to safety expectations found in high-value commercial assets such as commercial property in KL or modern industrial environments including industrial land in Selangor and industrial property in the Subang area.
A Concept Rooted in Child Development & Safe Play
HarborLand Malaysia CEO Jane Leong shared that the idea of bringing the brand into the country began two years ago, after visiting several branches in Thailand.
“We immediately saw how each playground was thoughtfully crafted to encourage holistic child development, and the happiness of the children spoke for itself,” she said.
HarborLand Thailand CEO Prakarn Nokhong added that the brand was born out of his struggle to find clean, safe and hygienic play spaces for his own children. What began as a single playground in Thailand has now expanded to 28 indoor centres and one waterpark, with plans to grow to 36 indoor playgrounds and five waterparks next year.
A Boost for Bukit Kiara’s Lifestyle Ecosystem
The opening of HarborLand adds a strong family entertainment anchor to KLGCC Mall, strengthening the mall’s positioning within Bukit Kiara’s affluent catchment. Alongside nearby residential and commercial developments — and the rising demand for lifestyle-enriched urban communities across Klang Valley — this new addition supports the broader trend of integrated hubs combining leisure, retail and wellness offerings.
Just as demand for well-located assets continues to rise across the Klang Valley — from factory spaces in Puchong to commercial property in KL — the presence of a high-quality indoor theme park further elevates KLGCC Mall’s long-term value proposition.
