(Malacca, 4th) USB flash drive developer Dato Pan Jiancheng believes that not every child has to go to university. If they are interested and capable of further study, it is of course a good thing. On the contrary, being forced by parents to continue their studies is a waste of time for both parties.
He said that many college students have studied professional courses for four or five years, but after graduation they still cannot master the knowledge in the field they studied. They have to work in society for three to five years before starting to learn. However, compared with those who enter technical colleges after graduating from high school and can enter the technical field after entering society, college students are obviously a group of people who start slowly.
“Technical training courses can provide children who do not want to go to university with a relatively promising system to learn their strengths. ”
Pan Jiancheng, chairman of Taiwan Phison Electronics, was invited to host the course launch ceremony for the "Genesis Technical Training Center" in Malacca this afternoon, and talked about his views with the attendees at the sharing session. Pan Jiancheng is from Sekinchan, Selangor. He first invented the USB flash memory single chip flash drive (Pen Drive) in 2001.
Pan Jiancheng said that in the early years of Taiwan, due to the large-scale development of universities, many technical colleges were transformed into universities, resulting in an oversupply of college students and difficulty in finding jobs. Later, when it was discovered that the country needed technical talents for development, technical colleges began to be developed again, which were welcomed by Taiwanese and overseas students because these graduates not only mastered a skill, but also found high-paying jobs.
He believes that money can buy a lot of things, but it can't buy respect. The joint establishment of the "Genesis Technical Training Center" by the Malaysian Machinery Manufacturers Association and New Era College is a very great cause, giving young people the opportunity to receive technical training, which is admirable.
Chen Baocheng: It is ideal to develop vocational education from an early age
On the other hand, Chen Baocheng, president of the Federation of Machinery Manufacturers of Malaysia and chairman of the board of directors of Genesis Vocational Training Center, said that it is ideal to develop vocational education from an early age because children love to think and are curious. Unfortunately, vocational education has not yet been fully incorporated into the country's formal education.
He said that Pan Jiancheng from Malaysia could not stand out in Malaysia because there was no environment and platform for him to perform locally. In the end, he broke out of Taiwan and became a legendary figure.
“I hope parents will care about vocational education and let a child use today's technology to express his thoughts and concepts. Don't have a low view of vocational education, but a creative field. ”
Earlier, Dr. Mok Soon Chong, president of New Era College, said that the college was preparing to run vocational education two years ago to make up for the deficiencies in the national education system, but it was powerless, lacked funds and talents, and could not meet the needs of various vocational fields. Therefore, the college is very happy to act as an ally of the Malaysian Machinery Manufacturers Association and continue to promote the spirit of self-reliance in the Chinese community in running education.
