Air Freight Shipping Calculation

Air freight is usually charged based on actual weight or volumetric weight — whichever is greater.

Volumetric Weight Formula:

Volumetric Weight (kg) = Length (cm) x Width (cm) x Height (cm) / 6000

We will compare:
    •    Actual weight (kg)
    •    Volumetric weight (kg)

You pay for the higher value.

    •    Box size: 50cm x 40cm x 30cm = 60,000 cm³

Sea shipping rates are usually per CBM, and sometimes there is a minimum charge (e.g. 0.3 CBM).

Example:
    •    Box size: 60cm x 50cm x 40cm = 120,000 cm³
    •    CBM = 120,000 / 1,000,000 = 0.12 CBM
    •    If rate = RM440 per CBM → RM440 × 0.12 = RM60

Heavy weight does not affect sea freight price unless it’s extreme (e.g. 1 ton).
