The Omoda C5, also known as the Omoda 5, Chery C5, or Chery O5 depending on the market, has received its second facelift, which debuted at the 2025 Chery International User Summit. In Malaysia, the first facelift was introduced earlier this year as the Chery O5.
Chery Corporate Malaysia confirmed that the latest facelifted model will be launched locally next year, though the exact timing depends on the production of a right-hand-drive version, as the current model is built only in left-hand-drive form.
The new O5 is expected to feature the SHS-H hybrid powertrain, combining a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and a 1.83 kWh battery, delivering 223 PS.
The 2025 O5 already brought major upgrades compared to the Omoda 5, including a six-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (replacing the CVT) and a multi-link rear suspension for improved handling and comfort. The 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine remains the same.
Highlight features include automatic LED headlights, keyless entry with remote start, hands-free powered tailgate, dual-zone climate control, ventilated power-adjustable front seats, 64-colour ambient lighting, and a sunroof.
For connectivity and safety, the O5 offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Qi wireless charger, an eight-speaker Sony sound system, a 360° camera, and a full suite of driver assistance features such as autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane centring assist, and blind spot monitoring.
