The MyJPJ and MyBayar PDRM apps will soon only allow login through MyDigital ID, replacing the current user ID and password system. According to Nik Hisham Nik Ibrahim, CEO of MyDigital ID, using a single login will make things easier, safer, and more transparent. It will also support Malaysia’s push towards digital transformation. The MyDigital ID app has also been upgraded to support fingerprint login, making access faster and more secure. This move comes after a delay last year. The original plan to make MyDigital ID the only login method for MyJPJ in October 2024 was cancelled after strong public reaction. Many Malaysians were not ready, especially senior citizens, and there were also complaints about the app being slow. Transport Minister Anthony Loke later clarified that his Ministry had not been informed about the sudden pop-up alert in the MyJPJ app. While the new start date has not been announced yet, the latest update shows that the government still plans to go ahead. Malaysians are encouraged to register for MyDigital ID now to make sure they can continue using these apps once the change is enforced.
