JPJ has outlined several steps to enhance counter services nationwide. These improvements were highlighted by the department’s director-general, Datuk Aedy Fadly bin Ramli, after a recent visit from government chief secretary Datuk Seri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar to a JPJ counter in Galeria, Putrajaya. During the visit, the KSN directed that changes be implemented within a week.

JPJ recognizes the need to address specific issues, particularly by improving counter services to reduce customer congestion and wait times.

One key initiative is the introduction of JPJ Assist officers who will assist customers with transactions that can be completed online. These officers will approach customers in line to determine if their tasks can be completed online and, if so, will guide them through the process. Additionally, JPJ will encourage customers to renew their driving licenses (LMM) and road tax (LKM) online through the MyJPJ app and mySIKAP portal.



JPJ will also enhance its JPJeQ system, allowing customers to obtain queue numbers by scanning a QR code. Customers will receive real-time updates on their queue status directly on their phones.

Additionally, the department plans to update its standard operating procedures (SOPs) for vehicle and driver licensing transactions that currently require physical documents or forms. These will be replaced by digital versions that can be filled out before visiting JPJ counters.

"JPJ hopes that these improvements will help reduce congestion and waiting times at JPJ counters, ensuring the best possible service for our customers," said the JPJ director-general.
