Sales of the Proton S70 began this year and have quickly become a major success, exceeding 10,000 units. June sales of 1,440 units helped the sedan reach this milestone, trailing slightly behind the updated 2024 X50, which sold 1,711 units.

The S70 has sold 10,914 units in the past six months, outperforming the X50 which sold 10,204 units this year. Proton claims the S70 leads in monthly sales for C-segment sedans, although it competes in both B- and C-segments.

Even though its sales dipped to their lowest level since January at 1,442 units, the S70 still ranked as Proton’s second best-selling sedan after the Saga, which sold 5,441 units and totaled 34,838 units over six months. The Persona also had a good month with 1,309 units sold, adding to Proton’s strong performance in sedan sales overall.



In June, the carmaker sold 12.2% fewer cars compared to the previous month, totaling 10,999 units. This decline was due to lower-than-expected industry sales and a planned one-week shutdown at the factory for improvements.
