News reports indicate that Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) is considering merging Sime Darby Motor and Perodua to create an automotive giant worth over RM10 billion.

International sources cite insiders revealing that PNB is in discussions with advisors regarding various options, including initially merging the holding companies of these two firms, then forming a larger automotive group to help spearhead the development of Malaysia's electric vehicle industry.
