UMW Toyota finished 2023 with higher sales and plans to introduce a greater number of electrified vehicles in the future

UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd concluded 2023 on a positive note, achieving a total yearly sales figure of 108,107 units, marking a 7% rise from the previous year's 101,035 units sold.

In December 2023, the company reported a monthly sales total of 10,402 units, comprised of 10,079 Toyota vehicles and 323 Lexus vehicles. Additionally, UMWT had a noteworthy accomplishment in its aftersales division, recording 1,342,130 returning customers throughout 2023.



 

UMWT's President, Datuk Ravindran K., highlighted their commitment to enhancing the mobility experience through Toyota cars and widening access to ownership for prospective customers.

In 2023, UMWT underwent a significant transformation by refreshing almost its entire range of vehicles for the Malaysian market. The year kicked off with the exciting launch of GR models, including the GR86, GR Corolla, GR Hilux, GR Corolla Cross, and the manual Supra.

Afterward, they introduced the all-new Toyota Vios, an upgraded Yaris, the Corolla GR Sport, and the brand-new Innova Zenix, culminating with the introduction of the all-new Alphard in October. Even as the new year begins, Toyota is teasing further developments, especially in the realm of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Datuk Ravindran K. mentioned, "Looking ahead to 2024, our primary aim is to unveil additional models, with a particular emphasis on xEV technologies.
