The 2026 Proton Saga MC3 has kicked off with an explosive start, racking up an impressive 10,000 bookings within just five days of the order books opening on November 10. This incredible pace — averaging one booking every 43 seconds — highlights the strong confidence Malaysians have in the new-generation Saga even before its official launch.
Proton confirmed that along with the surge in bookings, another 10,000 slots remain available for the early-bird package, which includes one year or 20,000 km of free service (covering both parts and labour) as well as an exclusive limited-edition Saga Touch ‘n Go card. The estimated price range of RM40,000 to RM50,000 seems to have struck a sweet spot among buyers looking for an affordable yet modern national sedan.
According to Proton deputy CEO Datuk Ir Abdul Rashid Musa, the overwhelming response reflects the deep connection Malaysians have with the Saga nameplate, now reintroduced in a more advanced, refined form.
“The all-new Saga is more than just a car; it’s a symbol of national progress, reimagined for a new generation. To receive 10,000 bookings in just five days is truly humbling. We thank Malaysians for their trust and support,” he said.
To meet the unexpected demand, Proton’s team in Tanjong Malim has already begun accelerating production. The company confirmed that customer deliveries will start immediately after the official launch, to ensure early buyers get their cars as soon as possible.
The 2026 Saga MC3 marks a major step forward for Proton, arriving with updated styling, upgraded features, and a refreshed variant lineup including Standard, Executive, and Premium trims. A brief test drive preview revealed promising improvements in driving feel, refinement, and overall build quality.
