Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced today that full-time e-hailing drivers will soon enjoy a higher monthly fuel quota under the BUDI95 subsidy programme, according to a report by Bernama.

Beginning next year, the government will increase the fuel allocation for eligible full-time e-hailing drivers to 800 litres per month, equivalent to about 5,000 kilometres of travel. The revised quota will also include airport taxi drivers.



“The government has decided to raise the BUDI95 limit for e-hailing drivers to 800 litres monthly,” Anwar told the Dewan Rakyat, adding that the benefit will come with certain travel requirements.

This adjustment responds to requests from e-hailing drivers, who argued that the previous 600-litre quota was insufficient for their daily operations.



It represents the second increase this year, following an earlier revision in October, when the limit was raised from 300 to 600 litres, assisting approximately 58,000 drivers nationwide.



Anwar noted that the decision followed a review of fuel consumption data provided by e-hailing companies and appeals from driver associations.

According to Treasury Secretary-General Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican, the move was made after evaluating the data and taking into account the drivers’ operational needs.
