善心烟花女 30万遗产全捐慈善

卖身来新加坡当“琵琶仔”，何桂棉（艺名月小燕）从不因为自己的出身向命运低头，还积极回馈社会，曾在中国抗日时期，卖花筹款支持抗日活动，也曾为广惠肇留医院募款。乐善好施的她在世时便立下遗嘱，把毕生积蓄逾29万新元（约90万令吉）全额平均捐献给三家机构，为人世间撒播爱的种子。
 
“琵琶仔”是广东人对雏妓的通称，后来也成了新加坡人对青楼女子的称呼。
 
何桂棉膝下无子，晚年靠着积蓄独立生活，直到2017年在家安详离世，享年96岁。乐善好施的她早在2008年便立下遗嘱，把积蓄全额平均捐献给新加坡广惠肇留医院，新加坡创价学会和新加坡儿童会这三家机构。根据2020年9月的结算，何女士的遗产有超过29万多新元，受益机构将各获得9万8000多元（逾29万令吉）。
 
何桂棉是创价学会成员，早年也曾为广惠肇留医院募款，凭积极募捐筹款贡献获得金牌。她过后还把两个金牌捐回给广惠肇留医院。
 
“之所以要把遗产捐给新加坡儿童会，也是因为她的童年生活不愉快，基于同理心，想要帮助弱势家庭的孩子。”
