HASTE Take
Freight rates, tax rules and platform regulations are all tightening at once ! who hits your bottom line first depends on how you schedule your shipments now
First, freight rates. Chinese factories are rushing to clear orders before the October 1 National Day holiday, so shipping demand is especially concentrated in the last few days of September. When demand piles up like this, carriers seize the chance to raise prices. Shanghai to New York is already at USD10373 per 40ft container, and Shanghai to Los Angeles has climbed to USD7838. What's worse, carriers are adding another round of increases from October 1 ! USD2000 to USD3000 more per 40ft container, with the exact amount depending on the carrier. If your goods are already sitting at the factory waiting to be loaded, try to catch the last sailing before September 30. Otherwise, shipping in early October could mean paying this extra surcharge on top.
