I. Eligibility

Nationality Requirements:
Applicants who were originally citizens of Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, or Taiwan, and later obtained foreign nationality, must have acquired foreign citizenship before April 30, 2021, and have lived abroad for at least two consecutive years between April 30, 2021, and April 30, 2025 (a stay of 9 months abroad within one year is considered as one full year, based on entry and exit stamps). -
Health Condition:
Applicants must be in good physical and mental health and meet the medical examination requirements for applying for a Chinese study visa or residence permit. -
Education Background:
Applicants must have completed senior high school or above with good academic performance. -
Conduct:
Applicants should be friendly toward China, have good behavior, no record of disciplinary or criminal violations, and comply with school rules and Chinese laws. -
Language Requirements:
Applicants should have a HSK Level 5 score of 180 or above.
Those whose native language is Chinese or whose previous education was conducted in Chinese may be exempt from submitting HSK scores after verification. -
Age Requirement:
Applicants under 18 years old as of September 1, 2025, must submit a Letter of Guardianship Guarantee.
Scholarship applicants must also meet the age requirements set for each scholarship program.

III. Application Procedure

Required Documents:

Valid passport (must be valid for at least 6 months) and photo.

Highest diploma or pre-graduation certificate.

Official transcripts and standardized test results.

HSK Level 5 certificate or equivalent Chinese proficiency proof.

Personal statement (including self-introduction, education background, interests, study goals, reasons for applying, and career plan).

Physical examination form and blood test report (with hospital stamp, valid for 6 months).

Certificate of no criminal record (issued within 6 months).

Financial proof (bank statement showing at least RMB 30,000 balance, valid until after October 2025).

Scholarship application form (for Guangdong Government Scholarship applicants, attach two recommendation letters).

Nationality-related proof (for applicants of former Chinese nationality or with Chinese parents, as detailed in original notice).

Guardian’s Guarantee Letter and notarized documents (for applicants under 18).

Optional supporting documents (e.g. award certificates).

Applicant’s Integrity Commitment Letter (signed and scanned).
Note:
All documents must be in Chinese or English. If not, notarized translations must be provided.

Applicants may apply through:-
Category A (Bilateral Program): via dispatching authorities or Chinese embassies in home countries.

Category B (“Silk Road” Program): Apply directly to GZUCM (Institution Code: 10572) through the CSC online system: https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn.

Guangdong Government Scholarship for New International Students:
RMB 10,000 per student (subject to yearly updates).
VI. Admission Process
Submit materials → Document review → Interview → Admission → Receive Admission Notice & JW202 Form → Apply for X1 Visa → Register at GZUCM.
VII. Registration
Admitted students must use an X1 Visa and convert it to a residence permit within 30 days after entering China.
The university will conduct health checks and qualification verification after enrollment.
Applicants providing false documents will have their admission or student status canceled.
