Scope of Work: Cooling Coil Replacement, Butterfly Valve Installation, and Pipe Freezing
1. Problem Statement
The existing HVAC infrastructure showed significant signs of thermal inefficiency and mechanical failure.
Cooling Coil: Heavy fouling and fin degradation reduced heat transfer capabilities.
Butterfly Valve: The isolation valve was seized, preventing system regulation.
Piping: System constraints required a valve replacement without a full building drain-down.
2. Technical Execution
To ensure zero operational downtime, the following procedures were implemented:
Cryogenic Pipe Freezing: Utilized liquid nitrogen to create a localized ice plug, isolating the work area while maintaining system pressure elsewhere.
Butterfly Valve Replacement: Removed the seized component and installed a high-performance lug-style valve for precise flow control.
Cooling Coil Installation: Swapped the degraded unit with a high-efficiency coil to restore optimal airflow and thermal exchange.
3. Project Outcome
Operational Efficiency: 15% increase in thermal performance.
Maintenance: Restored full isolation capabilities for future service.
Downtime: 0% building-wide interruption achieved through pipe-freezing technology.
