Malaysia Airlines Resumes Direct Flights to Brisbane

01-Dec-2025

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 30 – Malaysia Airlines has resumed direct flights between Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Brisbane Airport.

The inaugural MH135 service departed on November 29, reestablishing this key route amid growing travel demand.

The airline reported enthusiastic response with strong load factors of 86% on outbound flights and 99% on return journeys.

This reinstatement expands Malaysia Airlines’ Australian network to five direct destinations.

The carrier has increased frequencies to Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide alongside the Brisbane resumption.

Malaysia Airlines has begun introducing its all-new A330neo fleet on selected Australia routes.

These aircraft offer enhanced passenger comfort, improved fuel efficiency and state-of-the-art cabin features.

By the first quarter of 2026, the airline will operate the youngest widebody fleet in Australasia.

Flight MH135 operates from Kuala Lumpur to Brisbane at 8.40 pm on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The return service MH134 departs Brisbane at 8 am on the same days.

Malaysia Aviation Group chief commercial officer Dersenish Aresandiran said the resumption underscores the airline’s commitment to strengthening its Australian footprint.

“This strategic expansion supports both tourism and trade flows between Malaysia and Queensland,” he stated.

The move offers travellers greater convenience and choice while enhancing global network connectivity.
