Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 12,297 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 950,029.
In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 1,163,291.
There are now 203,664 active cases, breaching the 200,000 mark for the first time, with 1,066 patients being treated in intensive care and 537 requiring respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the 195 deaths take the number of fatalities to 9,598.
Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 5,836.
This was followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,309), Johor (1,275), Kedah (1,036), Sabah (1,010), Perak (967), Kelantan (915), Negeri Sembilan (816), Penang (798), Pahang (628), Melaka (508), Sarawak (494), Terengganu (429), Putrajaya (72), Perlis (7) and Labuan (5).
There were 17,068 local infections today, involving 14,688 Malaysians and 2,380 foreigners, as well as 37 imported cases.
The 195 deceased comprised 173 Malaysians and 22 foreigners. All but 45 had existing medical conditions while 34 were brought in dead.
Selangor reported the highest number of deaths with 88, followed by Johor (24), Penang (15), Kedah (13), Sabah (12), Negeri Sembilan (8), Melaka (8), Pahang (8), Terengganu (7), Perak (4), Kelantan (3), Sarawak (2), Kuala Lumpur (1), Perlis (1) and Labuan (1).
Noor Hisham also said that as of yesterday, the country’s Covid-19 infectivity rate (R0, or R-nought) stood at 1.07.
Terengganu recorded the highest R-nought level again with 1.30. Other states and federal territories that recorded R0 levels above 1 were Kelantan (1.25), Perak (1.20), Sabah (1.19), Kedah (1.18), Penang (1.17), Johor (1.14), Kuala Lumpur (1.13), Pahang (1.11), Putrajaya (1.11), Selangor (1.08), Sarawak (1.08) and Melaka (1.06).
