Wharfedale have taken note that although there is high demand for quality cabinet loudspeakers, not everybody has the space to accommodate such systems. Standing just 19cm high and sporting a 19mm silk dome tweeter and 75mm mid/bass driver with woven polypropylene cone, these satellite speakers still sound great but won't impose themselves upon your living space. Their sealed design with no bass port means they're suitable for use close to walls, or wall mounted without a negative impact on sound performance.
The DX-1's subwoofer is very compact, designed to integrate perfectly with the rest of the package to supply well responsive bass. Being a cube just a smidgen over a foot in size it's won't stick out like a sore thumb as some larger subs can. The 200mm long-throw bass cone combines with a new-generation, 150W Class D amplifier to produce bass which is both deep and well defined.
