Cobra’s King Tec looks like a traditional hybrid, but it’s packed with the kind of technology and adjustability usually reserved for a driver or fairway wood.Geared for the better player who wants another option off the tee — and from the fairway — King Tec is the only hybrid in Cobra’s lineup that boasts a responsive PWRShell face. The forged 455 stainless steel L-cup insert wraps under the leading edge and adds additional ball speed and a higher launch across the entire face structure. The face design has been utilized in the past with the company’s game-improvement irons (and more recently the King Forged Tec).
What separates King Tec from other hybrids on the market is an expanded level of adjustability via a weight and loft system. The three weights (two 12-grams weights and a 2-gram weight) can be situated in the toe, heel or a more neutral location to alter ball flight characteristics. For swing weight and/or a stronger draw or fade shape, additional weights (10 and 14 grams) are also available through custom order.
