This article introduces 12 main characteristic parameters of humidity sensing elements. ⑴ Humidity Characteristics: Refers to the relationship between the electrical parameters of the humidity sensing element and humidity changes. ⑵ Switching Characteristics: Refers to the step-like characteristic of the electrical parameters of the humidity sensing element when the humidity reaches a certain value. ⑶ Temperature Coefficient: Also called the humidity-sensing temperature coefficient or humidity temperature coefficient, it refers to the change in humidity indicated by the element when the ambient temperature changes by 1°C. ⑷ Humidity Coefficient: Refers to the change in the electrical parameters of the humidity sensing element by 1%RH within a certain relative humidity range. ⑸ Hysteresis Effect: Refers to the inconsistency in the electrical parameters of the humidity sensing element at the same humidity level when the humidity increases and decreases. ⑹ Hysteresis Loop: Refers to the moisture absorption and dehumidification hysteresis loop of the humidity sensing element when it undergoes cyclical changes in humidity. (7) Thermal hysteresis: Refers to the lag in electrical parameters of a humidity-sensitive element when it is moved from one ambient temperature to another under a certain humidity level. (8) Thermal hysteresis time: Refers to the time required for the electrical parameters of a humidity-sensitive element to reach equilibrium when it is moved from one ambient temperature to another under a certain humidity level. (9) Response time (time constant): Refers to the time required for the electrical parameters of a humidity-sensitive element to reach a specified proportion of the steady-state change when the relative humidity changes abruptly at a certain temperature. (10) Resolution: Refers to the ability of a humidity-sensitive element to detect the smallest change in humidity. (11) Rated voltage: Refers to the highest voltage that can be applied to a humidity-sensitive element during long-term continuous operation. (12) Rated current: Refers to the maximum current that can be applied to a humidity-sensitive element during long-term continuous operation. (13) Aging characteristics: Refers to the relationship between the humidity characteristics of a humidity-sensitive element and changes over time.
