Pro-Net has announced that the Proton eMas 5, launched on October 30, has already received over 10,000 bookings, marking a strong start for Proton’s newest electric vehicle.
At the same time, the Proton eMas 7 continues to dominate the local EV market with 7,413 units sold to date — comprising 6,954 units in Malaysia and 459 units exported abroad. This achievement secures its position as Malaysia’s best-selling EV for 10 consecutive months.
According to Pro-Net, most eMas 5 bookings come from the central region, followed by the southern and northern regions, while demand from East Malaysia and the East Coast shows a steady upward trend.
Looking ahead, the next model in Proton’s eMas lineup is expected to be the brand’s first model equipped with an engine, likely in a hybrid or range-extender form — signaling Proton’s continued commitment to expanding its electric mobility range.
Meanwhile, Proton has opened bookings for the 2026 Proton Saga, which is estimated to be priced between RM40,000 and RM50,000.
The strong response to the eMas 5 and eMas 7 underscores Malaysian consumers’ growing confidence in locally produced electric vehicles. With increasing bookings and expanding EV infrastructure nationwide, Proton’s eMas lineup is set to play a key role in accelerating Malaysia’s shift toward sustainable mobility.
