Malaysia has recently acceded to the Madrid System in September 2019. This is a great news for all of us, especially for local entrepreneurs or brand owners who intend to pursue their international trade mark applications and bring their brands globally!
With a single application and single fee, local brand owners can now protect their trade marks in multiple countries of interest (up to over 120 Madrid member countries at this point of time). Similarly, foreign brand owners can also seek their trade mark protection via the same system in a more convenient way in Malaysia.
