An EM Mudball Workshop with SJKC Woon Hwa and SK Taman Bukit Indah, Johor, was successfully held on 18 August 2025, in collaboration with Junior Chamber International South Key (JCI South Key).
During the workshop, students actively participated in various engaging activities, including:

250+ students trained as “Young Eco Heroes”
-
1,500 EM Mudballs produced and deployed into nearby polluted drains and riverbanks
-
Community awareness sessions on the role of EM technology in river restoration
This program empowers schoolchildren to take hands-on action in environmental preservation. It provides practical education on Effective Microorganisms (EM) and promotes sustainable environmental care through experiential learning. The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 13 – Climate Action and SDG 14 – Life Below Water.
EMRO Malaysia looks forward to continuing its partnership with JCI South Key in future environmental education programs that inspire young generations to protect our planet.
