SET UP MORE PALM OIL REFINERIES, HEAVYWEIGHTS URGED

Sarawak needs to set up more palm oil refineries to boost capacity as the uptake of crude palm oil (CPO) from mills would be sharply reduced once the Wilmar International Ltd-owned refinery in Bintulu stops buying CPO produced from oil palm estates on peat swamp land and forest areas from 2015 onwards.

Sarawak Oil Palm Planter Owners Association (Soppoa) secretary Philip Ho urged the big players having the financial muscle to invest in more such refineries.

SARAWAK - POTENTIAL EXPANSION

However, while the land available for oil palm plantations in West Malaysia and Sabah are almost exhausted, research shows that Sarawak can plant another million hectares of oil palm plantation by the year 2020.

Sarawak’s planned expansion requires significant investment to meet existing goals and to take advantage of food security needs and global demand for oils.

Admission

Admission is restricted to trade professionals only and there is no charge to visit the exhibition.

Please refer to our conference information for delegate costs. To register for a visitor badge to visit the exhibition, you can do so online before show days, or on show days with your business card.

Visitor badges are non-transferable due to security reasons. You may be asked by security personnel to present proof of identification before entry into the exhibition.

Minors aged 16 years and below will not be allowed entry into exhibition halls.

Attire

All visitors must be in proper attire. Those in shorts and slippers will not be allowed entry. Organizer reserves the right to refuse admission to visitors who are not appropriately dressed.
