Temperament & Behavior

• Very affectionate, loving, tends to bond closely with its owner. They like being companions and are often “people-dogs.” 

• Lively and playful, but not hyperactive. They need regular light exercise (walks, play), but not heavy physical demands. 

• Intelligent and capable of training; they respond well to positive reinforcement. However, because of their small size, training should be gentle — harsh methods are not good.

• Alert and can be vocal — quick to bark or alert at visitors, unfamiliar sounds etc. They make good watchdogs in that sense though obviously not guard dogs.

• They may suffer from separation anxiety if left alone too long; like having human company
